Last updated: 12 October 2026

This notice explains what personal information PinPoint Local collects through this website and by email, why, who it is shared with, and what your rights are. It is written to meet the notification requirements of South Africa's Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA), because PinPoint Local is run from South Africa.

3. Why we use it

We do not use your information for purposes unrelated to these, and we do not sell it.

4. Is it voluntary, and what if you don't provide it?

Giving us your information is voluntary. No law requires you to provide it. However:

5. Laws that apply

No specific law requires us to collect this information. Our handling of it is governed by the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA). Depending on where you are, your own local privacy laws may give you further rights, and we will honour requests made under them.

6. Who receives it (service providers)

We use a small number of outside services to run the site and the business. They process information on our behalf, or under their own terms where stated:

We may also keep lead details (such as your name, business name, email and notes about our conversations) in records or spreadsheets on our own computer.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

7. Sending information outside South Africa

PinPoint Local is run from South Africa, but the services listed above are based in, or process data in, the United States and possibly other countries. That means your information is transferred outside South Africa.

POPIA (section 72) only allows such a transfer in certain cases — for example, where the recipient is bound by law, binding corporate rules or a binding agreement giving a level of protection similar to POPIA, where you consent, or where the transfer is needed to carry out a contract with you or steps you asked for before a contract. We rely on the transfer being needed to do what you asked (send your snapshot, answer your question or email, arrange your call) and, where applicable, on the providers' own data protection terms.

The level of protection in those countries may differ from South Africa's. By submitting the form, using the chat, emailing us or booking a call, you understand that your information will be processed by these providers outside South Africa.

8. Cookies

This website does not set cookies and does not use analytics or advertising trackers. As described above, Google Fonts and our website host receive your IP address when a page loads. Cal.com and Google may set their own cookies on their own pages or services under their own policies.

9. How long we keep it

We keep snapshot requests and lead conversations for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless you become a client. Client records are kept for as long as we work together, and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting law requires. You can ask us to delete your information sooner (see section 11). We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above, or as the law requires, and then delete or de-identify it.

10. Keeping it secure

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, including using established providers and limiting who can access it. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. If we become aware of a security compromise affecting your information, we will notify you and the Information Regulator where the law requires.

11. Your rights

Under POPIA you have the right to:
